Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Family Museum and its ability to enrich the lives of children in our community! The purpose of the Volunteer program at the Family Museum is to support the operations and staff with volunteer help to present a richer visitor experience.Looking for Fun and fulfillment? Volunteers enhance every aspect of the Museum. Their willingness to donate their time, resources and talents at special events, in classes, for workshops, on committees and boards, as well as serve the public as sales associates in the Museum's Corner Store, visitor service volunteers, greeters and gallery attendants enriches the experience for everyone, both visitors and staff. Over 80 adults and 60 young people (age 11 and up) volunteer at the Family Museum throughout the year, donating over 4500 hours of volunteer time.

- Corner Store Sales Associate - This pleasant volunteer would be involved with the day to day operation of the Corner Store. Volunteers should feel comfortable working with the public, using a computer and telephone. Duties would include ringing up sales in the store, straightening and restocking merchandise, dusting off fixtures and answering the telephone.
- Class Attendant - Volunteers for this position would assist a Museum staff member in carrying out activities planned for the class. These activities would be designed by the staff member prior to the class. Volunteers should enjoy working closely with young children.
- Visitor Services Attendant - This pleasant volunteer may be a visitor's first contact with the Museum experience, so we need a smiling face at this very important position. The volunteer would need to enjoy working with the public. The primary functions of this position would be to greet visitors, take admission, check in tour groups and answer phone calls.
How You Can Become a Museum Volunteer

Volunteering is fun, rewarding, and has flexible hours. Opportunities are available for volunteers from ages 11 to 100.
