Family Museum Offers Unique
Drop-In Programming
Bettendorf —
The Family
Museum in Bettendorf has several unique drop-in classes available for
families this fall!
Put on your pj’s and
join Museum mascots Buzz and Honey, the bee twins, for Sleepytime
with Buzz and Honey! Miss Kim brings Buzz and Honey and some of the
best bedtime stories around for this low-light, soft voiced drop-in
program. Enjoy songs, stories and a little quiet time together!
Sleepytime with Buzz and Honey is held from 6:30 – 7 pm each Tuesday
night in the Family Museum Welcome Theater. Sleepytime is specifically
designed for families with preschoolers, and is included in the cost of
regular Museum admission (which is only $2 per person after 5 pm) or
with a Museum membership. No registration is required.
Visit the Family Museum
between 9 am and 10 am the second and third Thursday of every month for
the Itty Bitty Garden Club! Enjoy unique themed stories, crafts
and games. Themes vary, but include things like Fall Fun (held October
12), where you can make leaf art, count apples, and have some fun with a
parachute. Itty Bitty is specifically designed for ages 2-5 with
an adult caregiver, and is included in the cost of regular Museum
admission or with a Museum membership. No registration is required.
For even more stories
and songs, visit the Family Museum from 10 am – 10:30 am each Friday
morning for Under the Big Tree with Buzz and Honey! Ms. Kim will be
there with our favorite bee twins to teach special songs and dances,
share stories, and more! It all happens under the “big tree” in the
Museum’s Great Hall. Designed for learners 5 and under and their adult
caregivers, Under the Big Tree is included in Museum admission, and does
not require registration.
For those slightly
older learners and their parents, join us in the art room every Saturday
for Drop In Art! Held 9:30 -10:30 am and 11- 12 pm Saturday’s, learners
age 4 and up and their adult caregivers are invited to drop in and
discover what art project Mr. Glenn is working on! Make art a family
affair each Saturday—mediums of art will vary, including drawing,
painting, junk sculpture, paper art, and clay. Students age 4 and up
with an adult may drop in and work on the featured art project. Plenty
of supplies are on hand to entice your creativity! There is no
registration, but you are asked to come early for each class time, as
limited spots are available. There is a $2 materials fee charged for
this class, as well as the cost of Museum admission or Membership.
