Each day of dance camp includes a craft project, a snack, and lots of dancing fun, of course!  Each camp includes a mini-performance on the last day.  Watch for more information on the first day of class!

With delightful first steps into the world of ballet, this 3-week series brings stars to any little dancer's eyes!  Our emphasis is on positions, good health, and lots of fun.  Ballet shoes required for safety.  Leotards and tights may be worn but are not required.

Introduce your little guys to dance in a class just for them!  Boys can cut loose in this 3-week introductory class that teaches creative movement and basic tap and ballet steps.  Our focus is on fun and building beginner dance skills.

Dance isn’t just about the steps, but about telling great stories, too!  Express your creative side by dancing the tales of Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and the Ugly Duckling, and more.

This magical dance camp will thrill your little princess!  We’ll dance to the music of Ariel, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, and Belle.  This will be an enchanting week of dance, ribbons, wands, and crowns.  Each day we will watch one princess dance in her own movie and on the last day, we will get to meet a princess in person!

Try all different styles of dance, from ballet to hip-hop to everything in between.  Prepare for your close up by learning to put on stage make-up, create performance-ready hair, and make your own costume.

In this advanced class for older boys, our dancers continue to perfect steps in jazz, tap, and basic ballet.  A great class for building an understanding of rhythm, posture, and coordination that will build other sports skills!

Do you love to create your own dances?  Learn some tricks of the trade as we explore new movements and choreograph a solo or duet for a showing at the end of the week.

LimeLight A La Carte......................... Code: SD121

Fee: $10 per day or $72 for all 8 sessions!

Dates: M-Th, July 28 – August 7 from 4:00 – 5:00 PM

LimeLight is the Museum's non-competitive dance performance company.  These a la carte sessions are a great way for our current LimeLight dancers to stay in shape this summer, or a wonderful chance for interested dancers to give the company a try.  Pick one, a few, or try them all as we work on technique and learn some simple choreography:

Visit Family Museum Dance at our open house events!  Meet the dance staff, see our dance studios and stage, and learn all about our comprehensive dance program for children and teens age 4 and up.  Visitors will also be able to register for fall classes, get placement information for new dancers over 6 years of age, and find out about our LimeLight Dance Company.  Each event will also feature a 20-minute sample ballet class for new students aged 4-6, and a 20-minute sample jazz/hip-hop class for new students age 7+.

The Family Museum Dance Open houses are scheduled for Saturday, July 12 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM and Saturday, August 16 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM
