Where Your Money Goes
Last year Family Museum Foundation granted money
totaling over $31,000 to help pay for down payments on traveling
exhibits, staff training, Marley floor for the Family Museum Dance
Program, bus transportation subsidies, and the popular Explore
the World cultural series. This year money from the FMF will be
used for the upcoming Bob the Builder traveling exhibit,
equipment for early childhood development, Family Science Night,
A World of Culture events, the Family Museum’s dance company
LimeLight, and more.
The
FMF receives funds from unrestricted gifts and donations,
fundraisers, profits from the Corner Store, and other various
resources. The majority of funds come from private donations and
annual fundraisers such as Birdies for Charity and the Family Museum
Trivia Night.
Needs and
Necessities
-
To generate funds for
traveling exhibits In an effort to provide the best educational opportunities
possible, the museum periodically changes its traveling exhibits to meet the needs and
wants of the community. Funds need to be raised from the private sector to rent traveling
exhibits or build a new exhibit in-house.
-
To fund specialized
Museum programs The Museum reaches out into the community to provide for people
that might not otherwise be able to visit the Family Museum. Support is necessary to offer
this type of program available.
- To support a comprehensive funding plan geared
toward reducing dependency on any one financial resource by
utilizing a mixture of earned revenue, endowment and investment
income and public funds.
